There are virtually countless ways to get ideas on what to choose as niche topics to come up with material that people are looking for.

Many experts will suggest using Google trends to get ideas. This is effective if you like to acquire a lot of visitors fast.

The trends data will tell you what people are looking for in the past few days. This is useful if you are a blogger who regularly posts entries. However, if you want a site that will earn money for you without touching it after it’s finished, there other sources of niche ideas that you can use to expose what we call immortalforever niches”.

Forever niches are niches that has continued readers over a long period of time. It takes longer to make everfresh websites and you see traffic immediately but once you are finished, all you have to do is wait and watch the cash roll in. Create enough evergreen websites and you can have a
steady flow of cash even you don’t work at it again.

As an example, I created a website about how to make a paper airplane. In the beginning, it barely brought in a dollar a day. It was earning only a few cents a day but I continued with it. I continued building links back to the website. Now, after a few months of back link building, it’s already bringing in about $200/month. Note that the website promotion wasn’t really full force. I have numerous other projects going on. I acquired links for the paper airplanes site only in at the start.

I get links every now and then whenever I feel like it. I wasn’t really certain if the project would bring in useful amounts of cash. I just enjoy
paper planes. So I continued building backlinks to the site although it was just making very little. Just recently, it started contributing a couple hundred of dollars a month and that will only increase as I continue to get better rankings in the search engines. I am now exerting more effort for more backlinks to the site.

If you look at it, it would seem that the niche isn’t a lucrative one. But consider this: this site of mine will be producing money years and years from now even if I don’t even touch it. There will always be demand for tutorials on how to make paper airplanes as long as there are kids.

The site is NOT a site that was solely meant for adsense. It is a useful website and visitors to the site come back repeatedly. Some even promote it to their friends.

So that’s the first thing to keep in mind when choosing an evergreen niche. It has to be useful or at least entertaining. Visitors must like to go to your website even if Google didn’t exist.

Ironically, having that in mind would increase your rankings in the search engines. The search engines measure how long a visitor stays on your site. If you have low quality content, your visitors won’t think twice to click on the back button. And it only takes a second to figure out if a site is useless.

Let’s talk more about unearthing ideas or topics that you can use to put up evergreen sites. People search about “how to” instruction online.

And there are websites dedicated to thousands of “how to” topics. You can go to those how to sites and search for the most viewed articles. If you find something that interests you, the next step is to do some keyword research. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to beat the pages on the established how to websites.

One of the favorites among online earners to generate niche ideas is Amazon.com. If people buy products for their hobby, you will know that they are passionate about it and that they will want to get more information about that hobby. So go ahead and search amazon.com for items related to hobbies. Think about fishing, skydiving, chess, stamp collecting. There are a myriad number of hobbies you can work on.

Another handy page is Wikipedia’s list of hobbies. There are many niches in that list and I’m sure you’ll find at least one that you’d like to work on. Choosing a topic that you love will help you keep at it even if you’re still not seeing any good results immediately. If you work on a topic that you don’t like, it will be very easy for you to give up.

So we have already discussed two sources of website topics. Generally, how to’s and hobbies will be evergreen topics. The third interesting source that could potentially give you traffic and income for several years are biographies. People will be interested in the life of famous personalities. If there’s a well-known personality you’ve always wanted to learn about, this is a good chance to learn about that person and generate income from your research at the same time. There are even TV channels dedicated to biographies and you can get ideas from those TV channels.

We have discussed three potential sources of evergreen niches. Surely there are several other sources where you can find ideas to find evergreen niches. For now, the ones we have talked about should be enough to get you going. Keep in mind that whatever information you acquired in this article is useless unless you go out and do something about it.

Take action and you’ll discover what works and what doesn’t and you’ll be on your way to online success.
